Having a dream house is one thing, but having a dream house that can meet your need of an open space that has no bound to the nature is another. It is the Belmont Dream House designed by zo2 architecture which is located in Belmont-sur-Lausanne, Switzerland, that represents such qualification. The house is dominated by huge windows that allows the brearthtaking visual enjoyment, which is the views of Lake Geneva from the hilltop setting of Belmont-sur-Lausanne. The cutting edge design with high ceilings grants said breathtaking visual enjoyment from every corner of the house.
The house looks amazing both in day and night. In the daylight, you can see the house blends perfectly with the environment by taking in the natural light. Such an uplifting atmosphere to create that ensures serenity to the residents of the house. While the house is complemented by the natural light in the daylight, it is the lights from inside of the house that provides the fascinating glow in the night. The soft glow from the lights is captivatingly enhances the open plan design of the house, maximizes the feeling of warm and inviting.
The interior is materialized with such a meticulous detail filled with modern furnitures by utilizing every space of the house which is completed with huge windows. Every living space is dominated by the colour white, so that the use of strong colours such as yellowgreen, orange, and crimson are very welcomed additions. There are almost identical pink flower in living spaces of the house, such as kitchen, sitting room, and living room which add the delight to the room. The house uses slate tiles except for the bedroom and ensuite shower room; wooden floor and white linoleum floor respectively. Considering that the house is built with natural materials, it is eco friendly.
The kitchen is placed at the corner of the second floor. Just like every space of the house, white dominates the kitchen, except for the flower vase on top of kitchen island that gives the tiny splash of green and pink. Huge windows enacts the inspiring view of the exterior. Imagine that you are able to prepare your breakfast while being indulged with excellent morning view. The white bedroom provides the impression of simple yet stylish. Situated by the slight left side of the bed, there are huge windows with the clear view of the outside. I think that the term of not-such-a-morning-person is no more if we can enjoy this every single morning. The ensuite shower room is the perfect combination of white and yellowgreen. The use of white linoleum floor gives the pure and clean impression and the yellowgreen wall strikes the fresh mood. The washstand with two faucets is situated at the center, while the shower is at the corner. There is a little space at the right of the washstand where there is a yellowgreen mat that looks like a small patch of grass and an oval mirror that gives the illusion of larger room. By using the combination of white and orange and the situated potted plant, the sitting room looks warm and inviting. The most intriguing corner, in my opinion, is the practical use of the corner beside the wooden staircase; there are series of glass shelves from floor up to the ceiling.
I think that we all agreee that the house lives up to its name, don’t we?
